About Us
About the Center
JellyBeans ELC is an early learning center located in La Plata, MD. We have been open and fully operational since 1991, and have had hundreds of children in our care.
We are licensed through MSDE for ages 6 weeks through School-Age children. We are currently part of the MD Excels Program with a quality rating of 4. We are currently in the process of completing our MD accreditation.
Our lead teachers are fully qualified through the Office of Child Care. All of our staff have all received background checks & complete their yearly continued education.
Our goal is to care for each one of our children, as if they were our own. We aim to provide a safe & welcoming environment for our children everyday!
Meet our Administrative Staff
Jenna Goldey
Meet our Owner and Director, Jenna! With over 20 years of experience in early childhood education, Jenna is qualified to work with children of all age groups. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology as well as an Associate of Applied Science degree in Early Childhood Education.
Jenna is passionate about creating a safe, loving, and engaging environment where children can learn, grow, and feel at home. She takes great pride in being involved in the operations of JellyBeans and loves getting to know the children and families who become part of the JellyBeans family.
Outside of the center, Jenna is a devoted wife and mom who enjoys spending time with her family. One of her favorite parts of owning JellyBeans is having the opportunity to watch children grow from their earliest years through graduation and knowing that she and her staff played a special part in their childhood.
Cathleen Weiss
Ms. Cathleen has been a valued part of the JellyBeans family for many years! She first joined JellyBeans in 2015 and remained with us until 2018, when she took the opportunity to gain experience in the public school system. During that time, she worked as a Special Education Instructional Assistant and later as a Reading Interventionist.
In 2023, Ms. Cathleen returned to JellyBeans, working with our Toddlers and Twos. With experience caring for and teaching children of all ages, she brings a wonderful combination of classroom knowledge, patience, and dedication to her new role as Assistant Director.
Outside of JellyBeans, Ms. Cathleen enjoys being a mom, spending time with her dog Maggie, and doing anything outdoors with her family.
We are so excited to have Ms. Cathleen as part of the JellyBeans team!
